What are your thoughts on this rumour?

I can see it happening to be honest. He has become the new favourite for the job with the bookies in a space of a few hours. The bookies must know something that we don't.

bit worrying, he is all for saying how we must remain focussed and how he can't control speculation etc etc

what he hasn't said however is "I am not interested in the job and am staying put"

I think he could well be on his way

Not so sure about that. Dont think Nigel will comment until there is something more concrete to talk about. Its all paper talk so there is nothing to declare no interest in.

Its like me saying I am not interested in becoming Huddersfield manager - all they would do is then say who do you think you are? we arent interested in talking to you about the job anyway.

hmm.. I really don't think that is the same.. you are not bookie's favourite to take the role.

Remember when there was a rumour to take the Hull Defender, he was quick to say he had no interest even though the rumour was not started by him. He could have done the same and remained silent.

He could say something like "don't know where the rumour has come from, but I don't care as I am happy and staying here"

The fact that he has not said that worries me, I hope I am wrong.

Even if he did I wouldn't be convinced he would stay. Not that I'm questioning his integrity but plenty have said it before and gone back on it.

If they come in for him he would be a fool not to go imo.

Not sure he would be a fool. He'd get what 16 games to improve the results or be sacked? Where as he is top of the league with current club where he has job security for some time if nothing else. Also if he does get Scunny promoted, which I would like to think he has more chance of doing with us than the Terriers this season, it would open up much more attractive job opportunities I would expect.

Fair point Rainman. He could just deny it but maybe its giving something to occupy the media with so he can concentrate on the football. Also as you say Son_Im_30 it wouldnt mean much even if he did deny it.

Lets all worry about the controllables, take it one game at a time and do ever so well.
