ASHBY DECOY - COURSE GUIDE

Easy walking - Scunthorpe's Ashby Decoy course.
ASHBY Decoy Golf Club is an easy walking parkland course consisting of nine par fours, four par fives and five par threes with a total yardage of 6,237 off the white tees.
The third hole, a 392-yard par four, is a dog-leg left, stroke index one.
From the tee a straight drive is required as there is out of bounds on the right and the wooded decoy on the left.
On reaching the dog leg you are faced with a second shot to an elevated green guarded by two bunkers on the right and woods on the left.
It sounds simple but beware - any mistakes and you are in trouble.
The 16th, a 154-yard par three, is in a woodland setting and is arguably the most attractive hole in the area.
Off the tee you are faced with tall trees with one small gap which in turn has a bunker guarding a two-tiered green.
A birdie here will make you go home happy.
From the 18th tee take time out to enjoy the panoramic view of the first and 17th, and the clubhouse where you will find a warm welcome awaiting you in a spacious and comfortable lounge.
Enjoy a drink and excellent food in a friendly atmosphere.
